阿惟越致遮經歎法師品第十六
於是，天帝釋則取天華已散佛上，而白佛言：「唯然，世尊！吾以奉受此微妙經。」
Thereupon, Indra, Lord of the Devas, took heavenly flowers and scattered them over the Buddha, saying to the Buddha: "Indeed, World-Honored One! I receive and uphold this subtle and wondrous sutra."
答曰：「是故拘翼！蒙此經恩，天阿須倫不興戰鬪。」
He answered: "Therefore, Kauśika! Through the grace of this sutra, devas and asuras will not engage in warfare."
於是，文殊師利欲以開化無數百千人民之眾，使立德本，前白佛言：「如來、至真、等正覺本發道意而諷誦此大法之本。」
Thereupon, Mañjuśrī, wishing to transform countless hundreds of thousands of people and establish them in the roots of virtue, came forward and said to the Buddha: "The Tathāgata, the Truly and Perfectly Enlightened One, originally aroused the path-mind and recited this foundation of the great Dharma."
佛言：「是故，仁者！於不可計百億那術菩薩最尊光明智聖，普遍十方諸佛之土，猶日宮殿無所不照。」說是語時，此之國土六反震動，遍雨天華。
The Buddha said: "Therefore, benevolent one! Among the incalculable billions of nayutas of bodhisattvas, the most honored, illuminating wisdom sages, universally pervading the Buddha-lands of the ten directions, like the sun's palace illuminating everything." When these words were spoken, this land shook six times and heavenly flowers rained everywhere.
阿難白佛：「地何故動，而雨天華？」
Ānanda asked the Buddha: "Why does the earth shake and rain heavenly flowers?"
佛告阿難：「無數億天聞文殊師利之所讚詠，心懷踊躍，散此天華而興立願：『吾等亦當受此經卷，逮得道慧如文殊師利。』適說此言，眾罪悉畢，得近此經。以故欣然稽首佛足，復禮文殊師利，是故地動。」
The Buddha told Ānanda: "Countless billions of devas heard Mañjuśrī's praise, their hearts filled with joy, scattering these heavenly flowers and making this vow: 'We too should receive this sutra scroll and attain path wisdom like Mañjuśrī.' Having just spoken these words, all their sins are completely ended, and they approach this sutra. Therefore, joyfully bowing their heads to the Buddha's feet and also paying homage to Mañjuśrī—this is why the earth shakes."
阿難問佛：「是經之德，廣大無極。其聞此經，其得不小，不可妄遇。」
Ānanda asked the Buddha: "This sutra's virtue is vast and limitless. Those who hear this sutra gain no small benefit; it cannot be encountered carelessly."
佛言：「如是，阿難！族姓子、族姓女前後供養無央數佛，爾乃逮聞是經法耳。若聞信樂，受持諷誦，則為天上天下聖神。」
The Buddha said: "So it is, Ānanda! Sons and daughters of good families who have made offerings to countless Buddhas before and after can then hear this sutra teaching. If they hear it with faithful joy, receiving, holding, and reciting it, they become holy spirits above and below heaven."
佛語阿難：「假使是經所流布處，則不虛妄，有佛比倫。若有受持諷誦學者，則壞羅網降伏弊魔、則逮法瑛而演法明，勗勉眾冥得至道場。若有從我聞是經籍，歡喜受持而諷誦學，則為佛子從法身生。欲服聖食、坐於佛樹，如吾坐時、講說經法如佛所演，當受是經，持諷誦讀。」
The Buddha said to Ānanda: "Wherever this sutra is circulated, it is not false—there are Buddha peers there. If there are those who receive, hold, recite, and study it, they destroy nets, subdue evil Māra, attain Dharma jewels and expound Dharma illumination, encouraging those in darkness to reach the site of enlightenment. If there are those who hear this scripture from me, joyfully receiving, holding, reciting, and studying it, they become Buddha's children born from the Dharma body. Wishing to partake of holy food, sit beneath the Buddha tree, as when I sat, teaching sutra dharmas as the Buddha expounds, they should receive this sutra, holding, reciting, and reading it."
阿難問佛：「惟願世尊說當來者，後豈有人受此經法，持諷誦讀？」
Ānanda asked the Buddha: "I only wish the World-Honored One would speak of the future—will there be people who receive this sutra teaching, holding, reciting, and reading it?"
佛言：「阿難！於今現在佛前信者，彼人後世乃信之耳，受持諷誦。佛觀天上、天下、人間、諸魔、梵天、沙門、梵志、諸天人民、及阿須倫，不聞是經。後世聞之而信樂者，未之有也。於今聞者，後乃信耳。譬如長者及長者子，財富無數，獨處藏寶，行到他國。於阿難意，計之云何？其人藏寶不還得耶？」
The Buddha said: "Ānanda! Those who have faith before the Buddha in the present—those people in future lives will believe, receiving, holding, and reciting it. The Buddha observes heaven above, heaven below, the human realm, all māras, Brahmā heavens, śramaṇas, brahmins, all devas and people, and asuras who have not heard this sutra. Those who hear it in future lives and have faithful joy—this has never happened. Those who hear it now will believe later. It is like an elder and his son, with countless wealth, who alone stores treasure and travels to another country. What do you think, Ānanda? Would that person not retrieve his stored treasure when he returns?"
答言：「得之。所以者何？知其藏處，求輒得之。」
He answered: "He would get it. Why? Because he knows where it is stored; seeking it, he would find it."
佛言：「如是。今聞是經，後世歸之，猶取藏寶，如佛於此，道眼覩之。其今現世聞是經法歡喜信者，受持諷誦；後世必獲亦如是。阿難！汝坐佛前，聽是深經。」
The Buddha said: "Exactly so. Those who hear this sutra now and return to it in future lives are like retrieving stored treasure, as the Buddha sees with the Dharma eye here. Those in the present world who hear this sutra teaching with joyful faith, receiving, holding, and reciting it—in future lives they will certainly obtain the same. Ānanda! You sit before the Buddha listening to this profound sutra."
