唐天竺三藏菩提流志譯
如是我聞:
Thus have I heard:
一時婆伽婆,以善成就一切如來金剛正智之所建立,種種殊特超於三界灌頂寶冠,摩訶瑜伽自在無礙,獲深妙智,證平等法,所作功業皆已究竟,隨眾生心悉令滿足,三世平等常無動壞,三業堅固猶如金剛普光明身。住欲界他化自在天王宮殿之中,其王宮殿種種嚴好,皆以大寶摩尼所成,繒蓋幢幡眾彩交映,珠瓔寶鐸風動成音,一切如來常所遊踐,咸共歎美吉祥第一。有菩薩摩訶薩八千萬人,前後圍繞供養恭敬。佛為說法,初中後善,其義深遠,其語巧妙,純一無雜清淨圓滿。
At that time, the Bhagavat, having well accomplished the vajra true wisdom established by all Tathagatas, wearing various extraordinary crowns of abhiṣeka consecration that transcend the three realms, possessing unhindered mastery of the great yoga, having attained profound and wondrous wisdom, realized the dharma of equality, completed all tasks, fulfilling the wishes of all sentient beings according to their minds, being equal throughout the three times without wavering or destruction, with the three actions as firm as vajra and a universally radiant body.
He was dwelling in the palace of the King of the Paranirmita-vaśavartin Heaven in the Realm of Desire. This royal palace was magnificent in various ways, all made of great precious maṇi jewels, with silk canopies and banners reflecting various colors, pearl necklaces and jeweled bells creating sounds when moved by the wind. It was a place frequently visited by all Tathagatas, unanimously praised as the most auspicious.
There were eighty million bodhisattva-mahāsattvas surrounding him in front and behind, making offerings with reverence. The Buddha expounded the Dharma to them, which was good in the beginning, middle, and end, with profound meaning, skillful expression, pure, unmixed, and perfect.
其名曰:金剛手菩薩、觀自在菩薩、虛空藏菩薩、文殊師利菩薩、轉法輪菩薩、降伏一切魔菩薩。如是等菩薩摩訶薩而為上首。
Their names were: Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva, Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva, Dharma-Wheel-Turning Bodhisattva, and Subduer of All Māras Bodhisattva. These and other bodhisattva-mahāsattvas were the leaders of the assembly.
爾時世尊在大眾中,為諸菩薩說一切法自性清淨實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「愛清淨位是菩薩位;見清淨位是菩薩位;深著清淨位是菩薩位;悅樂清淨位是菩薩位;藏清淨位是菩薩位;莊嚴清淨位是菩薩位;光明清淨位是菩薩位;身清淨位是菩薩位;語清淨位是菩薩位;意清淨位是菩薩位;色清淨位是菩薩位;聲清淨位是菩薩位;香清淨位是菩薩位;味清淨位是菩薩位;觸清淨位是菩薩位。何以故?一切法自性清淨故。一切法自性清淨,即般若波羅蜜清淨。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, in the midst of the great assembly, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the self-nature purity of all dharmas. Namely:
The stage of purified desire is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified views is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified deep attachment is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified joy is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified treasury is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified adornment is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified light is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified body is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified speech is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified mind is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified form is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified sound is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified smell is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified taste is the bodhisattva stage; the stage of purified touch is the bodhisattva stage.
Why is this? Because all dharmas are pure in their self-nature. The self-nature purity of all dharmas is identical with the purity of prajñāpāramitā."
爾時世尊說此法門已,告金剛手菩薩言:「金剛手!若有人得聞此一切法自性清淨實相般若波羅蜜法門,一經於耳,是人所有煩惱障、業障、法障,極重諸罪皆自消滅,乃至菩提不生惡道。若復有人能日日中,受持讀誦思惟修習,即於現身得一切法平等性金剛三昧;餘十六生,當於一切法門而得自在遊戲快樂,乃至當獲諸佛如來金剛之身。」
At that time, after the World-Honored One had expounded this Dharma gate, he said to Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva: "Vajrapāṇi! If anyone hears this Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the self-nature purity of all dharmas, even if it passes through their ears just once, all of that person's affliction hindrances, karmic hindrances, and dharma hindrances, along with extremely grave sins, will spontaneously be eliminated, and until they attain bodhi, they will not be born in the evil realms. If there are people who can, day after day, uphold, recite, contemplate, and practice this teaching, they will, in their present body, attain the vajra samādhi of the equality of all dharmas. In their remaining sixteen lifetimes, they will attain mastery over all dharma gates, experiencing playful joy, and eventually obtain the vajra body of all Buddhas and Tathāgatas."
爾時如來即說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata pronounced this mantra:
「唅(長呼)」
“Hāṃ (long intonation)”
爾時世尊,復以一切如來普光明相,為諸菩薩說一切諸佛寂靜性成正覺實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「金剛平等成正覺,大菩提堅固性如金剛故;義平等成正覺,大菩提一義性故;法平等成正覺,大菩提自性清淨故;一切平等成正覺,大菩提離一切分別故。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the universal radiant appearance of all Tathagatas, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the quiescent nature of perfect enlightenment of all Buddhas. Namely: "Vajra-equal perfect enlightenment, because the great bodhi has a firm nature like vajra; meaning-equal perfect enlightenment, because the great bodhi has a single meaning; dharma-equal perfect enlightenment, because the great bodhi is pure in its self-nature; all-equal perfect enlightenment, because the great bodhi is free from all discrimination.”
爾時世尊說此法門已,復告金剛手菩薩言:「金剛手!若有人得聞此四種寂靜性成正覺實相般若波羅蜜法門,受持讀誦思惟修習,應知是人即得超於一切惡道,疾證阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。」
At that time, after the World-Honored One had expounded this Dharma gate, he said to Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva, "Vajrapāṇi! If anyone hears this Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the four kinds of quiescent nature of perfect enlightenment, and upholds, recites, contemplates, and practices it, you should know that this person will immediately transcend all evil realms and swiftly realize anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (supreme perfect enlightenment).”
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「唵(長呼)」
“Om (long intonation)”
爾時世尊,復以一切如來能調伏難調眾生釋迦牟尼相,為諸菩薩說一切法平等實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「貪無戲論性;瞋無戲論性;癡無戲論性。何以故?一切法無戲論性故。一切法無戲論性,即般若波羅蜜無戲論性。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, with the appearance of all Tathāgatas who can tame difficult-to-tame beings, the appearance of Śākyamuni, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the equality of all dharmas. Namely: "Desire is of non-conceptual nature; anger is of non-conceptual nature; ignorance is of non-conceptual nature. Why is this? Because all dharmas are of non-conceptual nature. The non-conceptual nature of all dharmas is identical with the non-conceptual nature of prajñāpāramitā."
爾時世尊說此法門已,復告金剛手菩薩言:「金剛手!若有人得聞此一切法平等實相般若波羅蜜法門,受持讀誦思惟修習,假令其人殺害三界一切眾生,終不因斯墮於惡道。何以故?已受調伏心律儀故。當知是人疾得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。」
At that time, after the World-Honored One had expounded this Dharma gate, he said to Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva: "Vajrapāṇi! If anyone hears this Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the equality of all dharmas, and upholds, recites, contemplates, and practices it, even if this person were to kill all sentient beings in the three realms, they would never because of this fall into the evil realms. Why is this? Because they have already received the disciplinary precepts of the tamed mind. You should know that this person will swiftly attain anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (supreme perfect enlightenment)."
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「憾(長呼)」
“Haṃ (long intonation)”
爾時世尊,復以一切如來自性清淨相,為諸菩薩說一切法平等性觀自在智印實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「一切世間貪性清淨、瞋性清淨;一切世間貪性清淨、瞋性清淨故,一切世間垢性清淨、罪性清淨;一切世間垢性清淨、罪性清淨故,一切世間法性清淨、眾生性清淨;一切世間法性清淨、眾生性清淨故,一切世間智性清淨;一切世間智性清淨,即般若波羅蜜清淨。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the self-nature purity appearance of all Tathāgatas, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the Avalokiteśvara wisdom seal of the equality of all dharmas. Namely: "The nature of desire in all worlds is pure, the nature of anger is pure; because the nature of desire in all worlds is pure and the nature of anger is pure, the nature of defilement in all worlds is pure and the nature of sin is pure; because the nature of defilement in all worlds is pure and the nature of sin is pure, the nature of dharmas in all worlds is pure and the nature of sentient beings is pure; because the nature of dharmas in all worlds is pure and the nature of sentient beings is pure, the nature of wisdom in all worlds is pure; the purity of the nature of wisdom in all worlds is identical with the purity of prajñāpāramitā."
爾時世尊說此法門已,復告金剛手菩薩言:「金剛手!若有人得聞此一切法平等觀自在智印實相般若波羅蜜法門,受持讀誦正念修習,是人雖在五欲塵中,不為貪欲諸過所染,譬如蓮華雖在淤泥非泥所著,乃至疾得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。」
At that time, after the World-Honored One had expounded this Dharma gate, he said to Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva: "Vajrapāṇi! If anyone hears this Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the Avalokiteśvara wisdom seal of the equality of all dharmas, and upholds, recites, contemplates properly, and practices it, this person, although amidst the five sensual desires, will not be tainted by the faults of desire, just as a lotus flower, although in muddy water, is not stained by the mud, and will swiftly attain anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (supreme perfect enlightenment)."
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「咭利(短呼)」
“Tili or Kili (short intonation)"
爾時世尊,復以一切如來為三界主相,為諸菩薩說一切諸佛灌頂出現智藏實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「灌頂施,令一切得三界王位故;財寶施,令一切得所願滿足故;淨法施,令一切得諸法實性故;飲食施,令一切身心獲安樂故。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of all Tathāgatas as lords of the three realms, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the treasury of wisdom manifested through the abhiṣeka (consecration) of all Buddhas. Namely: "The giving of consecration, causing all to attain the position of king of the three realms; the giving of wealth and treasures, causing all to have their wishes fulfilled; the giving of pure Dharma, causing all to attain the true nature of all dharmas; the giving of food and drink, causing all to attain physical and mental well-being.”
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「怛纜(長呼)」
"Tatraṃ (long intonation)"
爾時世尊,復以一切如來常住智印祕藏相,為諸菩薩說一切諸佛金剛智印甚深處實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「一切諸佛所攝持金剛身印,得一切如來真實體性故;一切諸佛所攝持金剛語印,得一切法門自在故;一切諸佛所攝持金剛心印,得一切三昧具足故;一切諸佛所攝持金剛智印,得最上身語心如金剛故。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of the eternal wisdom seal secret treasury of all Tathāgatas, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the profound place of the vajra wisdom seal of all Buddhas. Namely: "The vajra body seal upheld by all Buddhas, because it attains the true essential nature of all Tathāgatas; the vajra speech seal upheld by all Buddhas, because it attains mastery over all Dharma gates; the vajra mind seal upheld by all Buddhas, because it attains the perfection of all samādhis; the vajra wisdom seal upheld by all Buddhas, because it attains the supreme body, speech, and mind like vajra."
爾時世尊說此法門已,復告金剛手菩薩言:「金剛手!若有人得聞此一切諸佛金剛智印甚深處實相般若波羅蜜法門,受持讀誦正念思惟,當知是人則得成就最上金剛印,於一切智及眾事業皆得圓滿,身口意性猶如金剛,乃至當成阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。」
At that time, after the World-Honored One had expounded this Dharma gate, he said to Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva: "Vajrapāṇi! If anyone hears this Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the profound place of the vajra wisdom seal of all Buddhas, and upholds, recites, contemplates properly, and thinks upon it, you should know that this person will achieve the supreme vajra seal, attain perfection in all wisdom and various activities, with body, speech, and mind having the nature of vajra, and eventually realize anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (supreme perfect enlightenment)."
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「阿(短呼)」
"A (short intonation)"
爾時世尊,復以一切如來永離戲論相,為諸菩薩說文字轉輪品實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「一切諸法空,無自性故;一切諸法無相,離眾相故;一切諸法無願,離諸願故;一切諸法自性清淨,般若波羅蜜清淨故。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of all Tathāgatas who have forever transcended conceptual elaboration, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the turning wheel of letters chapter. Namely: "All dharmas are empty, because they have no self-nature; all dharmas are without characteristics, because they are free from all marks; all dharmas are without wishes, because they are free from all desires; all dharmas are pure in their self-nature, because prajñāpāramitā is pure.”
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「阿(烏舸反、短呼)」
"A (with the sound like 'wu-ge' in reverse, short intonation)"
爾時世尊,復以一切如來入廣大轉輪相,為諸菩薩說入廣大轉輪實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「入金剛平等性,得入一切如來轉輪故;入義平等性,得入一切菩薩轉輪故;入法平等性,得入妙法轉輪故;入一切平等性,得入一切轉輪故。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of all Tathāgatas entering the great turning wheel, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of entering the great turning wheel. Namely: "Entering the vajra equality nature, because it enables entry into the turning wheel of all Tathāgatas; entering the meaning equality nature, because it enables entry into the turning wheel of all bodhisattvas; entering the dharma equality nature, because it enables entry into the turning wheel of the wondrous Dharma; entering the all-equality nature, because it enables entry into all turning wheels.”
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「㘕(長呼)」
"Śaṃ or possibly Ksaṃ (long intonation)"
爾時世尊復以一切如來大善巧方便相,為諸菩薩說最第一廣供養諸佛實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「發菩提心即為大善巧方便廣供養一切諸佛;救護眾生即為大善巧方便廣供養一切諸佛;住持正法即為大善巧方便廣供養一切諸佛。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of all Tathāgatas with great skillful means, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the supreme extensive offerings to all Buddhas. Namely: "Generating the bodhi mind is itself the great skillful means of extensively making offerings to all Buddhas; rescuing and protecting sentient beings is itself the great skillful means of extensively making offerings to all Buddhas; upholding the true Dharma is itself the great skillful means of extensively making offerings to all Buddhas."
爾時世尊說此法門已,復告金剛手菩薩言:「金剛手!若有人得聞此最第一廣供養諸佛實相般若波羅蜜法門,若自書若教人書,若自受持若教人受持,若自讀誦若教人讀誦,若自思惟若教人思惟,若自供養若教人供養。隨其所作,即為大善巧方便廣供養一切諸佛。」
At that time, after the World-Honored One had expounded this Dharma gate, he said to Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva: "Vajrapāṇi! If anyone hears this Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the supreme extensive offerings to all Buddhas, whether they write it themselves or instruct others to write it, whether they uphold it themselves or instruct others to uphold it, whether they recite it themselves or instruct others to recite it, whether they contemplate it themselves or instruct others to contemplate it, whether they make offerings themselves or instruct others to make offerings - whatever they do, it is itself the great skillful means of extensively making offerings to all Buddhas."
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「唵(長呼)」
“Om (long intonation)”
爾時世尊,復以一切如來能調伏相,為諸菩薩說能調能攝一切眾生祕密智藏實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「一切眾生平等性,是瞋平等性;一切眾生調伏性,是瞋調伏性;一切眾生真法性,是瞋真法性;一切眾生金剛性,是瞋金剛性。何以故?一切眾生調伏性即是菩提故。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of all Tathāgatas who can tame beings, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the secret treasury of wisdom that can tame and embrace all sentient beings. Namely: "The equality nature of all sentient beings is the equality nature of anger; the tamable nature of all sentient beings is the tamable nature of anger; the true dharma nature of all sentient beings is the true dharma nature of anger; the vajra nature of all sentient beings is the vajra nature of anger. Why is this? Because the tamable nature of all sentient beings is itself bodhi.”
爾時如來復說呪曰:
「荷(長呼)」
"Ha or possibly He (long intonation)"
爾時世尊,復以一切如來住平等相,為諸菩薩說一切法最勝平等性實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「一切法平等性故,般若波羅蜜平等性;一切法第一義性故,般若波羅蜜第一義性;一切法法性故,般若波羅蜜法性;一切法業用性故,般若波羅蜜業用性。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of all Tathāgatas dwelling in equality, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the supreme equality nature of all dharmas. Namely: "Because all dharmas have the nature of equality, prajñāpāramitā has the nature of equality; because all dharmas have the nature of ultimate meaning, prajñāpāramitā has the nature of ultimate meaning; because all dharmas have the dharma-nature, prajñāpāramitā has the dharma-nature; because all dharmas have the nature of function, prajñāpāramitā has the nature of function.”
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「頡唎(長呼)」
"Hrīḥ or possibly Hrī (long intonation)"
爾時世尊,復以一切如來為眾生依怙相,為諸菩薩說一切眾生依怙實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「一切眾生是如來藏,普賢菩薩體性遍故;一切眾生是金剛藏,金剛藏水所灌灑故;一切眾生是正法藏,是正言詞所說性故;一切眾生是妙業藏,善巧妙業所運為故。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of all Tathāgatas as the refuge for sentient beings, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the refuge for all sentient beings. Namely: "All sentient beings are the Tathāgata treasury, because the essential nature of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva pervades everywhere; all sentient beings are the vajra treasury, because they are sprinkled with the water of the vajra treasury; all sentient beings are the true Dharma treasury, because they possess the nature expressed by true speech; all sentient beings are the wondrous activity treasury, because they are activated by skillful wondrous activities.”
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「底唎(長呼)」
"Tirī or possibly Dhirī (long intonation)"
爾時世尊,復以一切如來無量無邊際究竟盡相,為諸菩薩說一切法無量無邊際究竟盡平等實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「般若波羅蜜無量故,一切諸佛亦無量;般若波羅蜜無邊故,一切諸佛亦無邊;般若波羅蜜一性故,一切諸法亦一性;般若波羅蜜究竟盡故,一切諸法亦究竟盡。」
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of all Tathāgatas with immeasurable, boundless, and ultimately complete qualities, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the equality of the immeasurable, boundless, and ultimately complete nature of all dharmas. Namely: "Because prajñāpāramitā is immeasurable, all Buddhas are also immeasurable; because prajñāpāramitā is boundless, all Buddhas are also boundless; because prajñāpāramitā has a single nature, all dharmas also have a single nature; because prajñāpāramitā is ultimately complete, all dharmas are also ultimately complete."
爾時世尊說此法門已,復告金剛手菩薩言:「金剛手!若有人得聞此無量無邊際究竟盡實相般若波羅蜜法門,受持讀誦正念思惟,此人所有一切障累皆得消滅究竟無餘,疾至菩提,獲於如來金剛之身而得自在。」
At that time, after the World-Honored One had expounded this Dharma gate, he said to Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva: "Vajrapāṇi! If anyone hears this Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of immeasurable, boundless, and ultimately complete nature, and upholds, recites, contemplates properly, and thinks upon it, all of this person's hindrances and obstacles will be completely eliminated without remainder, they will swiftly reach bodhi, and obtain the vajra body of the Tathāgata with complete mastery."
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「驃(長呼)」
"Piao or possibly Bhyo (long intonation)"
爾時世尊,復以一切如來離戲論祕密法性普光明相,為諸菩薩說大安樂金剛不空無礙決定入法性無初中後最第一實相般若波羅蜜法門。所謂:「諸菩薩能廣大承事供養故,得最上大安樂;得最上大安樂故,得諸佛無上大菩提;得諸佛無上大菩提故,能降伏一切魔軍;降伏一切魔軍故,得於三界皆自在;於三界皆自在故,能遍饒益一切眾生,悉與究竟最上安樂。何以故?頌曰:
At that time, the World-Honored One, manifesting the appearance of all Tathāgatas who have forever transcended conceptual elaboration with the universal radiant appearance of the secret dharma-nature, expounded to the bodhisattvas the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the supreme, great bliss, adamantine, non-empty, unobstructed, definite entry into the dharma nature without beginning, middle, or end. Namely: "Because bodhisattvas are able to extensively serve and make offerings, they attain the supreme great bliss; because they attain the supreme great bliss, they attain the unsurpassed great bodhi of all Buddhas; because they attain the unsurpassed great bodhi of all Buddhas, they are able to subdue all demonic armies; because they subdue all demonic armies, they attain sovereignty throughout the three realms; because they attain sovereignty throughout the three realms, they are able to extensively benefit all sentient beings, bestowing upon them the ultimate supreme bliss. Why is this? The verse says:”
有最勝智者, 常在生死中, 廣度諸群生, 而不入涅槃。
Those with supreme wisdom Remain in the realm of birth and death, Widely liberating all sentient beings, Yet do not enter nirvana.
般若波羅蜜, 究竟方便智, 能成清淨業, 普淨於諸有。
Prajñāpāramitā, The ultimate skillful wisdom, Can accomplish pure karma, Universally purifying all existences.
又以於貪等, 調伏諸世間, 乃至有頂天, 清淨無違暴。
Also, through desire and other [passions], They tame all worlds, Even up to the highest heavens, Purifying without opposition or violence.
在於生死世, 世法不能染, 如蓮華妙色, 塵垢所不污。
While in the world of birth and death, They are not stained by worldly dharmas, Like the wondrous color of a lotus flower That is not soiled by dust and filth.
大欲清淨人, 大施安樂人, 於三界自在, 作堅固利益。」
Those with purified great desire, Those who greatly bestow peace and happiness, Are sovereign in the three realms, Creating firm benefits.
爾時世尊說此法門已,復告金剛手菩薩言:「金剛手!若有人得聞此大安樂金剛法性實相般若波羅蜜法門,於日日中每清旦時,若聽聞、若誦念,相續不絕,當知是人所有罪障皆自消滅,心常調暢第一安樂。於現身中,即得成就金剛不空無礙決定入法,復當成就一切如來金剛祕密堅固之身。」
At that time, after the World-Honored One had expounded this Dharma gate, he said to Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva: "Vajrapāṇi! If anyone hears this Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā of the great bliss and adamantine dharma-nature, and every day at dawn, either listens to it or recites it continuously without interruption, you should know that all of this person's karmic obstacles will spontaneously be eliminated, and their mind will always be harmonious and experience supreme bliss. In their present body, they will achieve the adamantine non-empty unobstructed definite entry into dharma, and will also achieve the adamantine secret firm body of all Tathāgatas.”
爾時如來復說呪曰:
Then, the Tathāgata again pronounced a mantra, saying:
「莎訶(長呼)」
"Svāhā (long intonation)"
爾時世尊為諸菩薩說如上諸法門已,復告金剛手菩薩言:「金剛手!我此經典難可得聞,若有得聞乃至極少至於一字,應知是人過去已曾供養諸佛,於諸佛所種諸善根。何況有人具足聽聞讀誦之者,當知是人決定已曾供養恭敬尊重讚歎八十億那由他恒河沙等諸佛。若是經典所在之處,此地則為有諸佛塔。若復有人愛重此經,常隨守護不離身者,是人應受一切世間恭敬供養;是人當得宿命智通,能知過去無量劫事;不為一切天魔波旬之所擾亂,四天大王及餘諸天常隨衛護;一切諸佛及諸菩薩恒共攝受,十方淨土隨願往生。金剛手!我今略說實相般若波羅蜜法門功德如是,若廣說者窮劫不盡。」
At that time, after the World-Honored One had expounded all of the above Dharma gates to the bodhisattvas, he said to Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva: "Vajrapāṇi! This scripture of mine is difficult to hear. If there are those who hear it, even very little, as little as one syllable, you should know that such people have already made offerings to Buddhas in the past and have planted various roots of goodness in the presence of those Buddhas. How much more so for those who hear it completely and recite it! You should know that such people have definitely already made offerings to, respected, honored, and praised eighty billion nayuta Ganges sands of Buddhas. Wherever this scripture is located, that place is equivalent to having Buddha stupas. Furthermore, if there are people who cherish this scripture and constantly carry and protect it, not separating from it, such people should receive the respect and offerings of all worldly beings; such people will attain the supernatural knowledge of past lives and will be able to know events from countless kalpas in the past; they will not be disturbed by any heavenly māras or Māra Pāpīyas, and the Four Great Heavenly Kings and other devas will constantly protect them; all Buddhas and bodhisattvas will always embrace them, and they can be reborn in any of the ten directions' pure lands according to their wishes. Vajrapāṇi! I have now briefly explained the merits of the Dharma gate of the true characteristic prajñāpāramitā like this. If I were to explain them extensively, even exhausting an entire kalpa would not be sufficient.”
佛說此經已,金剛手等諸菩薩,天、龍、夜叉、乾闥婆、阿修羅、迦樓羅、緊那羅、摩睺羅伽、人非人等,一切眾會,皆大歡喜,信受奉行。
After the Buddha had spoken this sutra, Vajrapāṇi and the other bodhisattvas, devas, nāgas, yakṣas, gandharvas, asuras, garuḍas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, non-humans, and all those in the assembly were greatly delighted, believed, accepted, and respectfully practiced [the teachings].
