Śikṣānanda 實叉難陀 (施乞叉難陀) was a śramaṇa of Kustana (Khotan) who, in A.D. 695, introduced a new alphabet into China and translated nineteen works. The Empress Wu invited him to bring a complete copy of the Huayan sūtra to Luoyang.
Sixteen works in the present collections are assigned to him.
