毘盧遮那品第六
爾時，普賢菩薩復告大眾言：
At that time, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva again addressed the great assembly, saying:
「諸佛子！乃往古世，過世界微塵數劫，復倍是數，有世界海，名：普門淨光明。此世界海中，有世界，名：勝音，依摩尼華網海住，須彌山微塵數世界而為眷屬，其形正圓，其地具有無量莊嚴，三百重眾寶樹輪圍山所共圍遶，一切寶雲而覆其上，清淨無垢，光明照耀，城邑宮殿如須彌山，衣服飲食隨念而至，其劫名曰：種種莊嚴。
"Buddhaputra! In ancient times, beyond kalpas as numerous as dust motes in worlds, and double that number, there was an ocean of worlds called Universal Gateway Pure Light. Within this ocean of worlds, there was a world called Superior Sound, which rested upon an ocean of maṇi flower nets, with worlds as numerous as dust motes in Mount Sumeru as its retinue. Its shape was perfectly round, its ground possessed limitless adornments, it was surrounded by three hundred layers of precious tree wheel surrounding mountains, covered above by clouds of all kinds of jewels, pure and undefiled, radiating light. Its cities and palaces were like Mount Sumeru, clothing and food appeared according to one's thoughts. This kalpa was called Various Adornments.
「諸佛子！彼勝音世界中，有香水海，名：清淨光明。其海中，有大華須彌山出現，名：華焰普莊嚴幢，十寶欄楯周匝圍遶。於其山上，有一大林，名：摩尼華枝輪；無量華樓閣，無量寶臺觀，周迴布列；無量妙香幢，無量寶山幢，逈極莊嚴；無量寶芬陀利華，處處敷榮；無量香摩尼蓮華網，周匝垂布；樂音和悅，香雲照耀，數各無量，不可紀極；有百萬億那由他城，周匝圍遶：種種眾生，於中止住。
"Buddhaputra! In that Superior Sound world, there was a fragrant water ocean called Pure Light. Within that ocean appeared a great flower Mount Sumeru named Flower Flame Universal Adornment Banner, surrounded by ten precious railings. On top of that mountain was a great forest named Maṇi Flower Branch Wheel, with countless flower pavilions and precious viewing towers arranged all around; countless wonderful fragrant banners and precious mountain banners, supremely adorned; countless precious puṇḍarīka flowers blooming everywhere; countless fragrant maṇi lotus nets hanging all around; harmonious music and fragrant clouds illuminating, each countless in number beyond reckoning; and hundreds of millions of nayutas of cities surrounding it, where various kinds of beings dwelled.
「諸佛子！此林東有一大城，名：焰光明，人王所都，百萬億那由他城周匝圍遶；清淨妙寶所共成立，縱廣各有七千由旬；七寶為廓，樓櫓却敵，悉皆崇麗；七重寶塹，香水盈滿；優鉢羅華、波頭摩華、拘物頭華、芬陀利華，悉是眾寶，處處分布以為嚴飾；寶多羅樹，七重圍遶；宮殿樓閣，悉寶莊嚴；種種妙網，張施其上；塗香散華，芬瑩其中；有百萬億那由他門，悉寶莊嚴；一一門前，各有四十九寶尸羅幢次第行列。
“Buddhaputra! To the east of this forest was a great city called Flame Light Radiance, the capital of the human king, surrounded by hundreds of millions of nayutas of cities. It was built of pure wonderful jewels, extending seven thousand yojanas in length and width. It had walls made of the seven precious substances, with magnificent towers and battlements; seven layers of precious moats filled with fragrant water; utpala flowers, padma flowers, kumuda flowers, and puṇḍarīka flowers, all made of various jewels, distributed everywhere as decorations; precious tāla trees arranged in seven rings; palaces and towers all adorned with jewels; various wonderful nets spread above; perfumes and scattered flowers making it fragrant throughout. It had hundreds of millions of nayutas of gates, all adorned with jewels, and before each gate were forty-nine jeweled śīla banners arranged in rows.
「復有百萬億園林周匝圍遶；其中皆有種種雜香、摩尼樹香，周流普熏；眾鳥和鳴，聽者歡悅。此大城中所有居人，靡不成就業報神足，乘空往來，行同諸天；心有所欲，應念皆至。其城次南，有一天城，名：樹華莊嚴；其次右旋，有大龍城，名曰：究竟；次有夜叉城，名：金剛勝妙幢；次有乾闥婆城，名曰：妙宮；次有阿脩羅城，名曰：寶輪；次有迦樓羅城，名：妙寶莊嚴；次有緊那羅城，名：遊戲快樂；次有摩睺羅城，名：金剛幢；次有梵天王城，名：種種妙莊嚴……。如是等百萬億那由他數。此一一城，各有百萬億那由他樓閣所共圍遶，一一皆有無量莊嚴。
"Furthermore, there were hundreds of millions of gardens surrounding it, all containing various mixed fragrances and maṇi tree fragrances, permeating everywhere; birds singing harmoniously, delighting all who heard. All the residents of this great city had attained supernatural powers through their karma, traveling through the air like devas; whatever they desired in their minds would manifest immediately. To the south of this city was a deva city named Tree Flower Adornment; next, moving clockwise, was a great nāga city named Ultimate; next was a yakṣa city named Vajra Supreme Wonderful Banner; next was a gandharva city named Wonderful Palace; next was an asura city named Jewel Wheel; next was a garuḍa city named Wonderful Jewel Adornment; next was a kiṃnara city named Joyful Play; next was a mahoraga city named Vajra Banner; next was a Brahma king city named Various Wonderful Adornments... There were hundreds of millions of nayutas of such cities. Each of these cities was surrounded by hundreds of millions of nayutas of towers, each with limitless adornments.
「諸佛子！此寶華枝輪大林之中，有一道場，名：寶華遍照，以眾大寶分布莊嚴，摩尼華輪遍滿開敷，然以香燈，具眾寶色焰雲彌覆，光網普照，諸莊嚴具常出妙寶，一切樂中恒奏雅音，摩尼寶王現菩薩身，種種妙華周遍十方。其道場前，有一大海，名：香摩尼金剛；出大蓮華，名：華蘂焰輪，其華廣大百億由旬，莖、葉、鬚，臺皆是妙寶，十不可說百千億那由他蓮華所共圍遶，常放光明，恒出妙音，周遍十方。
"Buddhaputras! Within this Precious Flower Branch Wheel Great Forest was a site of enlightenment named Precious Flower Universal Illumination, adorned with distributions of many great jewels, filled with blooming maṇi flower wheels, lit with fragrant lamps, covered by clouds of many-jeweled colored flames, illuminated by nets of light, with ornaments constantly producing wonderful jewels, always playing elegant music, maṇi jewel kings manifesting bodhisattva bodies, and various wonderful flowers pervading the ten directions. Before this site of enlightenment was a great ocean named Fragrant Maṇi Vajra, from which emerged a great lotus named Flower Stamen Flame Wheel, its width extending one hundred billion yojanas, its stem, leaves, stamens and platform all made of wonderful jewels, surrounded by an inexpressible number of hundreds of thousands of billions of nayutas of lotus flowers, constantly emitting light and producing wonderful sounds pervading the ten directions.
「諸佛子！彼勝音世界，最初劫中，有十須彌山微塵數如來出興於世。其第一佛，號：一切功德山須彌勝雲。諸佛子！應知彼佛將出現時，一百年前，此摩尼華枝輪大林中，一切莊嚴周遍清淨。所謂：出不思議寶焰雲，發歎佛功德音，演無數佛音聲；舒光布網，彌覆十方；宮殿樓閣，互相照耀；寶華光明，騰聚成雲；復出妙音，說一切眾生前世所行廣大善根，說三世一切諸佛名號，說諸菩薩所修願行究竟之道，說諸如來轉妙法輪種種言辭。現如是等莊嚴之相，顯示如來當出於世。其世界中，一切諸王見此相故，善根成熟，悉欲見佛，而來道場。爾時，一切功德山須彌勝雲佛，於其道場大蓮華中忽然出現。其身周普等真法界，一切佛剎皆示出生，一切道場悉詣其所；無邊妙色，具足清淨；一切世間，無能映奪；具眾寶相，一一分明，一切宮殿悉現其像；一切眾生咸得目見無邊化佛從其身出，種種色光充滿世界。如於此清淨光明香水海，華焰莊嚴幢須彌頂上，摩尼華枝輪大林中，出現其身，而坐於座；其勝音世界，有六十八千億須彌山頂，悉亦於彼現身而坐。爾時，彼佛即於眉間放大光明，其光名：發起一切善根音，十佛剎微塵數光明而為眷屬，充滿一切十方國土。若有眾生應可調伏，其光照觸，即自開悟，息諸惑熱，裂諸蓋網，摧諸障山，淨諸垢濁，發大信解，生勝善根，永離一切諸難恐怖，滅除一切身心苦惱，起見佛心，趣一切智。時，一切世間主，并其眷屬，無量百千，蒙佛光明所開覺故，悉詣佛所，頭面禮足。
"Buddhaputras! In that Superior Sound world, during its first kalpa, there appeared Tathāgatas as numerous as dust motes in ten Mount Sumerus. The first Buddha was named All Merit Mountain Sumeru Supreme Cloud. Children of Buddha! Know that one hundred years before that Buddha's appearance, within this Maṇi Flower Branch Wheel Great Forest, all adornments became universally pure. That is: inconceivable jewel flame clouds emerged, sounds praising Buddha's merits arose, countless Buddha sounds were proclaimed; light nets spread out covering the ten directions; palaces and towers illuminated each other; precious flower light gathered into clouds; and wondrous sounds emerged, speaking of all beings' vast roots of goodness from previous lives, proclaiming the names of all Buddhas of the three times, explaining the ultimate path of bodhisattvas' practices and vows, and expressing the various words of the Tathāgatas turning the wonderful Dharma wheel.
Such adorned signs appeared, indicating the Tathāgata would appear in the world. All the kings in that world, seeing these signs, their roots of goodness ripened, all wished to see the Buddha and came to the site of enlightenment. At that time, All Merit Mountain Sumeru Supreme Cloud Buddha suddenly appeared within a great lotus at the site of enlightenment. His body universally pervaded the true Dharmadhātu, manifesting birth in all Buddha lands, going to all sites of enlightenment; with boundless wonderful forms, perfectly pure; none in all worlds could outshine him; possessing all precious marks, each distinct, his image appearing in all palaces; all beings could see boundless transformation Buddhas emerging from his body, various colored lights filling the worlds.
Just as he appeared and sat upon his seat in this pure light fragrant water ocean, atop the flower flame adorned banner Mount Sumeru, within the Maṇi Flower Branch Wheel Great Forest; likewise in the Superior Sound world, he manifested his body sitting upon all sixty-eight thousand billion Mount Sumeru peaks. At that time, that Buddha emitted a great light from between his eyebrows, named "Sound Arousing All Roots of Goodness," accompanied by lights as numerous as dust motes in ten Buddha lands, filling all lands in the ten directions. If there were beings ready to be tamed, when this light touched them, they naturally awakened, ceased their delusions and fever, tore apart the nets of hindrances, demolished mountains of obstacles, purified their defilements, gave rise to great faith and understanding, produced supreme roots of goodness, forever left behind all difficulties and fears, eliminated all physical and mental suffering, gave rise to the mind to see Buddha, and progressed toward all-wisdom. Then all the World Lords and their retinues, hundreds of thousands in number, having been awakened by the Buddha's light, all went to where the Buddha was and bowed their heads to his feet.
「諸佛子！彼焰光明大城中，有王，名：喜見善慧，統領百萬億那由他城，夫人、采女三萬七千人，福吉祥為上首；王子五百人(別本云二萬五千人)，大威光為上首；大威光太子有十千夫人，妙見為上首。爾時，大威光太子見佛光明已，以昔所修善根力故，即時證得十種法門。何謂為十？所謂：證得一切諸佛功德輪三昧，證得一切佛法普門陀羅尼，證得廣大方便藏般若波羅蜜，證得調伏一切眾生大莊嚴大慈，證得普雲音大悲，證得生無邊功德最勝心大喜，證得如實覺悟一切法大捨，證得廣大方便平等藏大神通，證得增長信解力大願，證得普入一切智光明辯才門。
"Buddhaputra! In that Flame Light Radiance great city, there was a king named Joyful Vision Good Wisdom, who ruled over hundreds of millions of nayutas of cities. He had thirty-seven thousand consorts and court ladies, with Blessed Fortune as their leader; five hundred princes (another version says twenty-five thousand), with Great Radiant Light as their leader; and Great Radiant Light Crown Prince had ten thousand consorts, with Wondrous Vision as their leader. At that time, when Crown Prince Great Radiant Light saw the Buddha's light, due to the power of roots of goodness cultivated in the past, he immediately attained ten kinds of Dharma gates. What were these ten? Namely: he attained the samādhi of all Buddhas' merit wheel, he attained the dhāraṇī of the universal gateway of all Buddha dharmas, he attained the prajñā-pāramitā of the vast skillful means treasury, he attained the great compassion of the great adornment for taming all beings, he attained the great compassion of universal cloud sounds, he attained the great joy of producing boundless supreme meritorious mind, he attained the great equanimity of truly awakening to all dharmas, he attained the great spiritual powers of the vast skillful means equality treasury, he attained the great vow of increasing the power of faith and understanding, and he attained the gateway of eloquence of universally entering all wisdom light.
「爾時，大威光太子，獲得如是法光明已，承佛威力，普觀大眾而說頌言：
At that time, Crown Prince Great Radiant Light, having obtained such Dharma light, by the Buddha's spiritual power, observed the great assembly and spoke these verses:
世尊坐道場， 清淨大光明， 譬如千日出， 普照虛空界。
The World-Honored One sits at the site of enlightenment, With pure great radiance, Like a thousand suns rising, Universally illuminating the realm of space.
無量億千劫， 導師時乃現， 佛今出世間， 一切所瞻奉。
Through countless billions of kalpas, The Guide appears only now, The Buddha has emerged in the world, All pay reverent homage.
汝觀佛光明， 化佛難思議， 一切宮殿中， 寂然而正受。
Observe the Buddha's light, Transformation Buddhas beyond conception, In all palaces, Serenely in samādhi.
汝觀佛神通， 毛孔出焰雲， 照耀於世間， 光明無有盡。
Observe the Buddha's spiritual powers, From his pores emerge clouds of flames, Illuminating the world, Light without end.
汝應觀佛身， 光網極清淨， 現形等一切， 遍滿於十方。
You should observe the Buddha's body, Networks of light supremely pure, Manifesting forms equal to all, Pervading the ten directions.
妙音遍世間， 聞者皆欣樂， 隨諸眾生語， 讚歎佛功德。
Wondrous sounds pervade the world, All who hear are delighted, According to beings' languages, Praising the Buddha's merits.
世尊光所照， 眾生悉安樂， 有苦皆滅除， 心生大歡喜。
Where the World-Honored One's light shines, All beings find peace and joy, All suffering is eliminated, Hearts give rise to great happiness.
觀諸菩薩眾， 十方來萃止， 悉放摩尼雲， 現前稱讚佛。
Observe the assembly of bodhisattvas, Gathered from the ten directions, All releasing maṇi clouds, Present before Buddha offering praise.
道場出妙音， 其音極深遠， 能滅眾生苦， 此是佛神力。
From the site of enlightenment emerge wondrous sounds, These sounds profound and far-reaching, Able to eliminate beings' suffering, This is the Buddha's spiritual power.
一切咸恭敬， 心生大歡喜， 共在世尊前， 瞻仰於法王。』
All are respectful, Hearts giving rise to great joy, Together before the World-Honored One, Gazing up at the King of Dharma.
「諸佛子！彼大威光太子說此頌時，以佛神力，其聲普遍勝音世界。
"Buddhaputras! When Crown Prince Great Radiant Light spoke these verses, by the Buddha's spiritual power, his voice pervaded throughout the Superior Sound world.
「時，喜見善慧王聞此頌已，心大歡喜，觀諸眷屬而說頌言：
At that time, King Joyful Vision Good Wisdom, having heard these verses, was greatly delighted in his heart, and looking at his retinue, spoke these verses:
汝應速召集， 一切諸王眾， 王子及大臣， 城邑宰官等。
You should quickly gather All the assembly of kings, Princes and ministers, City and town officials.
普告諸城內， 疾應擊大鼓， 共集所有人， 俱行往見佛。
Announce throughout all cities, Swiftly beat the great drums, Gather all the people, Together go to see the Buddha.
一切四衢道， 悉應鳴寶鐸， 妻子眷屬俱， 共往觀如來。
At all crossroads, Ring the precious bells, With wives, children and retinues, Together go observe the Tathāgata.
一切諸城廓， 宜令悉清淨， 普建勝妙幢， 摩尼以嚴飾。
All city walls, Should be made completely pure, Universally raise supreme banners, Adorned with maṇi jewels.
寶帳羅眾網， 妓樂如雲布， 嚴備在虛空， 處處令充滿。
Precious canopies spread with nets, Music spread like clouds, Arranged in space, Filling everywhere.
道路皆嚴淨， 普雨妙衣服， 巾馭汝寶乘， 與我同觀佛。
Roads all pure and adorned, Raining wonderful garments, Drive your precious vehicles, Come with me to see the Buddha.
各各隨自力， 普雨莊嚴具， 一切如雲布， 遍滿虛空中。
Each according to their ability, Rain down adornments, All spread like clouds, Filling all of space.
香焰蓮華蓋， 半月寶瓔珞， 及無數妙衣， 汝等皆應雨。
Fragrant flame lotus canopies, Crescent jeweled necklaces, And countless fine garments, You all should rain down.
須彌香水海， 上妙摩尼輪， 及清淨栴檀， 悉應雨滿空。
Sumeru fragrant water seas, Supreme maṇi wheels, And pure sandalwood, Should all rain filling space.
眾寶華瓔珞， 莊嚴淨無垢， 及以摩尼燈， 皆令在空住。
Many jeweled flower garlands, Pure and spotless adornments, And maṇi lamps as well, All set floating in space.
一切持向佛， 心生大歡喜， 妻子眷屬俱， 往見世所尊。』
All bring offerings to Buddha, Hearts filled with great joy, With wives, children and retinues, Go see the World Honored One.
「爾時，喜見善慧王，與三萬七千夫人、采女俱，福吉祥為上首；五百王子俱，大威光為上首；六萬大臣俱，慧力為上首……。如是等七十七百千億那由他眾，前後圍遶，從焰光明大城出。以王力故，一切大眾乘空而往，諸供養具遍滿虛空。至於佛所，頂禮佛足，却坐一面。復有妙華城善化幢天王，與十億那由他眷屬俱；復有究竟大城淨光龍王，與二十五億眷屬俱；復有金剛勝幢城猛健夜叉王，與七十七億眷屬俱；復有無垢城喜見乾闥婆王，與九十七億眷屬俱；復有妙輪城淨色思惟阿脩羅王，與五十八億眷屬俱；復有妙莊嚴城十力行迦樓羅王，與九十九千眷屬俱；復有遊戲快樂城金剛德緊那羅王，與十八億眷屬俱；復有金剛幢城寶稱幢摩睺羅伽王，與三億百千那由他眷屬俱；復有淨妙莊嚴城最勝梵王，與十八億眷屬俱……。如是等百萬億那由他大城中，所有諸王，并其眷屬，悉共往詣一切功德須彌勝雲如來所，頂禮佛足，却坐一面。
"At that time, King Joyful Vision Good Wisdom, together with thirty-seven thousand consorts and court ladies led by Blessed Fortune, five hundred princes led by Great Radiant Light, sixty thousand ministers led by Wisdom Power... Such an assembly of seven trillion seven hundred billion nayutas, surrounding him before and behind, departed from Flame Light Radiance great city. By the king's power, all the assembly traveled through space, with offering implements filling the sky. They arrived at where the Buddha was, bowed their heads to the Buddha's feet, and sat to one side.‣
Furthermore, there was the Heaven King Good Transformation Banner of Wonderful Flower City with ten billion nayuta retinues; the Dragon King Pure Light of Ultimate Great City with twenty-five billion retinues; the Yakṣa King Fierce Strength Vajra Supreme Banner of Vajra Supreme Banner City with seventy-seven billion retinues; the Gandharva King Joyful Vision of Spotless City with ninety-seven billion retinues; the Asura King Pure Color Contemplation of Wonderful Wheel City with fifty-eight billion retinues; the Garuḍa King Ten Powers Practice of Wonderful Adornment City with ninety-nine thousand retinues; the Kiṃnara King Vajra Virtue of Joyful Play City with eighteen billion retinues; the Mahoraga King Precious Name Banner of Vajra Banner City with three billion hundred thousand nayuta retinues; and the Supreme Brahma King of Pure Wonderful Adornment City with eighteen billion retinues... From such hundreds of millions of billions of nayuta great cities, all the kings and their retinues went together to where All Merit Mountain Sumeru Supreme Cloud Tathāgata was, bowed their heads to the Buddha's feet, and sat to one side.‣
「時，彼如來為欲調伏諸眾生故，於眾會道場海中，說普集一切三世佛自在法修多羅，世界微塵數修多羅而為眷屬，隨眾生心，悉令獲益。是時，大威光菩薩聞是法已，即獲一切功德須彌勝雲佛宿世所集法海光明。所謂：得一切法聚平等三昧智光明，一切法悉入最初菩提心中住智光明，十方法界普光明藏清淨眼智光明，觀察一切佛法大願海智光明，入無邊功德海清淨行智光明，趣向不退轉大力速疾藏智光明，法界中無量變化力出離輪智光明，決定入無量功德圓滿海智光明，了知一切佛決定解莊嚴成就海智光明，了知法界無邊佛現一切眾生前神通海智光明，了知一切佛力、無所畏法智光明。
At that time, that Tathāgata, in order to tame all beings, in the ocean of assemblies at the site of enlightenment, spoke the Universal Collection of All Three Times Buddhas' Sovereign Dharma Sutra, with sutras as numerous as dust motes in worlds as its retinue, according to beings' minds, causing all to gain benefit. At that time, when Bodhisattva Great Radiant Light heard this teaching, he immediately attained the light of the Dharma ocean collected by All Merit Mountain Sumeru Supreme Cloud Buddha in previous lives. Namely: he attained the wisdom light of the samādhi of equality of all dharma collections, the wisdom light of all dharmas entering and abiding in the initial bodhi mind, the wisdom light of the pure eye of the universal light treasury throughout the ten directions' Dharmadhātu, the wisdom light of the ocean of great vows observing all Buddha dharmas, the wisdom light of pure practice entering the ocean of boundless merit, the wisdom light of the swift powerful treasury progressing toward non-regression, the wisdom light of the wheel of liberation through countless transformation powers in the Dharmadhātu, the wisdom light of definitely entering the ocean of countless perfected merits, the wisdom light of the ocean of accomplishing adornments through understanding all Buddhas' definitive explanations, the wisdom light of the ocean of spiritual powers of boundless Buddhas appearing before all beings in the Dharmadhātu, and the wisdom light of knowing all Buddhas' powers and fearless dharmas.
「爾時，大威光菩薩，得如是無量智光明已，承佛威力而說頌言：
At that time, Bodhisattva Great Radiant Light, having obtained such boundless wisdom lights, by the Buddha's spiritual power spoke these verses:
我聞佛妙法， 而得智光明， 以是見世尊， 往昔所行事。
Having heard Buddha's wondrous Dharma, I obtained the light of wisdom, Through this I see the World-Honored One's Past deeds and practices.
一切所生處， 名號身差別， 及供養於佛， 如是我咸見。
In all places of birth, Names, bodies, and distinctions, And offerings made to Buddhas, All these I now can see.
往昔諸佛所， 一切皆承事， 無量劫修行， 嚴淨諸剎海。
At the places of past Buddhas, I served them all completely, Through countless kalpas practicing, Purifying oceans of lands.
捨施於自身， 廣大無涯際， 修治最勝行， 嚴淨諸剎海。
Giving away my own body, Boundlessly without limit, Cultivating supreme practices, Purifying oceans of lands.
耳鼻頭手足， 及以諸宮殿， 捨之無有量， 嚴淨諸剎海。
Ears, nose, head, hands and feet, And also all palaces, Giving them up without measure, Purifying oceans of lands.
能於一一剎， 億劫不思議， 修習菩提行， 嚴淨諸剎海。
In each and every land, Through inconceivable billions of kalpas, Practicing the bodhi path, Purifying oceans of lands.
普賢大願力， 一切佛海中， 修行無量行， 嚴淨諸剎海。
By Samantabhadra's power of great vows, Within all oceans of Buddhas, Practicing boundless practices, Purifying oceans of lands.
如因日光照， 還見於日輪， 我以佛智光， 見佛所行道。
Just as by sunlight's illumination, One can see the sun's orb, Through Buddha's light of wisdom, I see the path Buddha traveled.
我觀佛剎海， 清淨大光明， 寂靜證菩提， 法界悉周遍。
I observe oceans of Buddha lands, Pure and greatly luminous, Serenely realizing bodhi, Pervading all realms of dharma.
我當如世尊， 廣淨諸剎海， 以佛威神力， 修習菩提行。』
I shall be like the World-Honored One, Broadly purifying oceans of lands, Through Buddha's spiritual power, Practicing the bodhi path.
「諸佛子！時，大威光菩薩，以見一切功德山須彌勝雲佛，承事供養故，於如來所心得悟了，為一切世間，顯示如來往昔行海，顯示往昔菩薩行方便，顯示一切佛功德海，顯示普入一切法界清淨智，顯示一切道場中成佛自在力，顯示佛力無畏、無差別智，顯示普示現如來身，顯示不可思議佛神變，顯示莊嚴無量清淨佛土，顯示普賢菩薩所有行願，令如須彌山微塵數眾生發菩提心，佛剎微塵數眾生成就如來清淨國土。
"Children of Buddha! At that time, Bodhisattva Great Radiant Light, having seen and made offerings to All Merit Mountain Sumeru Supreme Cloud Buddha, gained awakening at the Tathāgata's place, and for all worlds, revealed the ocean of Tathāgata's past practices, revealed the skillful means of past bodhisattva practices, revealed the ocean of all Buddhas' merits, revealed the pure wisdom that universally enters all dharma realms, revealed the sovereign power of attaining Buddhahood at all sites of enlightenment, revealed the Buddha's powers, fearlessnesses and undifferentiated wisdom, revealed the universal manifestation of the Tathāgata's body, revealed inconceivable Buddha transformations, revealed the adornment of countless pure Buddha lands, revealed all of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva's practices and vows, causing beings as numerous as dust motes in Mount Sumeru to give rise to bodhi mind, and beings as numerous as dust motes in Buddha lands to accomplish the Tathāgata's pure lands.
「爾時，一切功德山須彌勝雲佛，為大威光菩薩而說頌言；
At that time, All Merit Mountain Sumeru Supreme Cloud Buddha spoke these verses to Bodhisattva Great Radiant Light:
善哉大威光， 福藏廣名稱， 為利眾生故， 發趣菩提道。
Excellent, Great Radiant Light, Treasury of merit, widely renowned, For the benefit of all beings, You set forth on the bodhi path.
汝獲智光明， 法界悉充遍， 福慧咸廣大， 當得深智海。
You've gained the light of wisdom, Pervading all dharma realms, Your merit and wisdom vast and broad, You'll attain the deep ocean of wisdom.
一剎中修行， 經於剎塵劫， 如汝見於我， 當獲如是智。
Practicing in a single land, Through kalpas as numerous as dust motes in lands, As you see in me, You shall attain such wisdom.
非諸劣行者， 能知此方便， 獲大精進力， 乃能淨剎海。
Not those of inferior practices Can know these skillful means, Only gaining great diligent power Can one purify oceans of lands.
一一微塵中， 無量劫修行， 彼人乃能得， 莊嚴諸佛剎。
In each and every dust mote, Through countless kalpas practicing, That person then can attain The adornment of all Buddha lands.
為一一眾生， 輪迴經劫海， 其心不疲懈， 當成世導師。
For each and every being, Through oceans of kalpas in saṃsāra, Their mind never weary or lax, They shall become a guide for the world.
供養一一佛， 悉盡未來際， 心無暫疲厭， 當成無上道。
Making offerings to each Buddha, Throughout all future times, Mind never briefly tired or weary, They shall attain the supreme path.
三世一切佛， 當共滿汝願， 一切佛會中， 汝身安住彼。
All Buddhas of the three times Shall together fulfill your vows, In all Buddha assemblies, Your body shall dwell therein.
一切諸如來， 誓願無有邊， 大智通達者， 能知此方便。
All Tathāgatas' Vows are without bounds, Those of great wisdom who penetrate Can know these skillful means.
大光供養我， 故獲大威力， 令塵數眾生， 成熟向菩提。
Great Light making offerings to me, Thus gaining great spiritual power, Causing beings numerous as dust motes To mature toward bodhi.
諸修普賢行， 大名稱菩薩， 莊嚴佛剎海， 法界普周遍。』
Those who practice Samantabhadra's conduct, Bodhisattvas of great renown, Adorning oceans of Buddha lands, Pervading all dharma realms.
「諸佛子！汝等應知彼大莊嚴劫中，有恒河沙數小劫，人壽命二小劫。諸佛子！彼一切功德須彌勝雲佛，壽命五十億歲。彼佛滅度後，有佛出世，名：波羅蜜善眼莊嚴王，亦於彼摩尼華枝輪大林中而成正覺。爾時，大威光童子，見彼如來成等正覺、現神通力，即得念佛三昧，名：無邊海藏門；即得陀羅尼，名：大智力法淵；即得大慈，名：普隨眾生調伏度脫；即得大悲，名：遍覆一切境界雲；即得大喜，名：一切佛功德海威力藏；即得大捨，名：法性虛空平等清淨；即得般若波羅蜜，名：自性離垢法界清淨身；即得神通，名：無礙光普隨現；即得辯才，名：善入離垢淵；即得智光，名：一切佛法清淨藏。如是等十千法門，皆得通達。
"Buddhaputra! You should know that in that Great Adornment Kalpa, there were small kalpas as numerous as sands in the Ganges River, and people's lifespans were two small kalpas. Children of Buddha! That All Merit Mountain Sumeru Supreme Cloud Buddha had a lifespan of five billion years. After that Buddha's parinirvāṇa, another Buddha appeared in the world named Pāramitā Good Eyes Adornment King, who also attained perfect enlightenment in that Maṇi Flower Branch Wheel Great Forest. At that time, when Youth Great Radiant Light saw that Tathāgata attain perfect enlightenment and manifest spiritual powers, he immediately attained the buddha-mindfulness samādhi named 'Gateway of the Boundless Ocean Treasury'; attained the dhāraṇī named 'Great Wisdom Power Dharma Deep Pool'; attained great loving-kindness named 'Universal Following of Beings for Taming and Liberation'; attained great compassion named 'Cloud Covering All Realms'; attained great joy named 'Treasury of Power from the Ocean of All Buddhas' Merits'; attained great equanimity named 'Pure Equality of Dharma-nature Space'; attained prajñā-pāramitā named 'Pure Body of the Stainless Dharma Realm Nature'; attained spiritual powers named 'Unobstructed Light Universally Manifesting'; attained eloquence named 'Skillfully Entering the Stainless Deep Pool'; and attained wisdom light named 'Pure Treasury of All Buddha Dharmas'. He attained penetrating understanding of ten thousand such dharma gates.
「爾時，大威光童子，承佛威力，為諸眷屬而說頌言：
At that time, Youth Great Radiant Light, by the Buddha's spiritual power, spoke these verses to his retinue:
不可思議億劫中， 導世明師難一遇， 此土眾生多善利， 而今得見第二佛。
In inconceivable billions of kalpas, A guiding bright teacher is rarely encountered, The beings of this land have great good fortune, For now they see the second Buddha.
佛身普放大光明， 色相無邊極清淨， 如雲充滿一切土， 處處稱揚佛功德。
The Buddha's body universally radiates great light, His form marks boundless and supremely pure, Like clouds filling all lands, Everywhere praising Buddha's merits.
光明所照咸歡喜， 眾生有苦悉除滅， 各令恭敬起慈心， 此是如來自在用。
Where the light shines all are joyful, Beings' sufferings are all eliminated, Each made respectful with minds of kindness arising, This is the Tathāgata's sovereign function
出不思議變化雲， 放無量色光明網， 十方國土皆充滿， 此佛神通之所現。
Emanating inconceivable transformation clouds, Releasing networks of countless colored lights, Filling all lands in the ten directions, This is the Buddha's spiritual powers manifesting.
一一毛孔現光雲， 普遍虛空發大音， 所有幽冥靡不照， 地獄眾苦咸令滅。
From each hair pore appear clouds of light, Pervading space and issuing great sounds, No darkness remains unilluminated, All sufferings of hell beings are eliminated.
如來妙音遍十方， 一切言音咸具演， 隨諸眾生宿善力， 此是大師神變用。
The Tathāgata's wondrous sounds pervade the ten directions, All languages are fully expressed, According to beings' roots of past good fortune, This is the Great Teacher's spiritual transformations.
無量無邊大眾海， 佛於其中皆出現， 普轉無盡妙法輪， 調伏一切諸眾生。
In boundless vast oceans of assemblies, Buddha appears within them all, Universally turning the inexhaustible wondrous Dharma wheel, Taming all beings.
佛神通力無有邊， 一切剎中皆出現， 善逝如是智無礙， 為利眾生成正覺。
Buddha's spiritual powers have no bounds, Appearing in all lands, The Well-Gone One's wisdom thus unobstructed, Attaining perfect enlightenment to benefit beings.
汝等應生歡喜心， 踊躍愛樂極尊重， 我當與汝同詣彼， 若見如來眾苦滅。
You should give rise to joyful hearts, Leaping with delight and utmost reverence, I shall go there together with you, When seeing the Tathāgata all sufferings cease.
發心迴向趣菩提， 慈念一切諸眾生， 悉住普賢廣大願， 當如法王得自在。』
Give rise to minds directed toward bodhi, With kind thoughts for all beings, All dwelling in Samantabhadra's vast vows, To attain sovereignty like the Dharma King.
「諸佛子！大威光童子說此頌時，以佛神力，其聲無礙，一切世界皆悉得聞，無量眾生發菩提心。時，大威光王子，與其父母，并諸眷屬，及無量百千億那由他眾生，前後圍遶，寶蓋如雲遍覆虛空，共詣波羅蜜善眼莊嚴王如來所。其佛為說法界體性清淨莊嚴修多羅，世界海微塵等修多羅而為眷屬。彼諸大眾，聞此經已，得清淨智，名：入一切淨方便；得於地，名：離垢光明；得波羅蜜輪，名：示現一切世間愛樂莊嚴；得增廣行輪，名：普入一切剎土無邊光明清淨見；得趣向行輪，名：離垢福德雲光明幢；得隨入證輪，名：一切法海廣大光明：得轉深發趣行，名：大智莊嚴；得灌頂智慧海，名：無功用修極妙見；得顯了大光明，名：如來功德海相光影遍照；得出生願力清淨智，名：無量願力信解藏。
"Buddhaputra! When Youth Great Radiant Light spoke these verses, by the Buddha's spiritual power, his voice was unobstructed and heard throughout all worlds, causing countless beings to give rise to bodhi mind. At that time, Prince Great Radiant Light, together with his parents and retinue, and countless hundreds of thousands of billions of nayutas of beings, surrounding him before and behind, with precious canopies like clouds covering all of space, went together to where Pāramitā Good Eyes Adornment King Tathāgata was. That Buddha spoke to them the Dharma Realm Nature Pure Adornment Sutra, with sutras as numerous as dust motes in oceans of worlds as its retinue. When that great assembly heard this sutra, they attained pure wisdom named 'Entering All Pure Skillful Means'; attained the ground named 'Stainless Light'; attained the pāramitā wheel named 'Manifesting All Worldly Joy and Adornment'; attained the expanding practice wheel named 'Universal Entry into All Lands' Boundless Light Pure Vision'; attained the progressive practice wheel named 'Stainless Merit Cloud Light Banner'; attained the realizing practice wheel named 'Great Light of All Dharma Oceans'; attained the ever-deepening progressive practice named 'Great Wisdom Adornment'; attained the ocean of consecrating wisdom named 'Effortless Cultivation of Supreme Vision'; attained the great illuminating light named 'Universal Illumination of the Ocean of Tathāgata's Merit Marks'; attained the pure wisdom of generating vow power named 'Treasury of Faith and Understanding of Boundless Vow Power'.
「時，彼佛為大威光菩薩而說頌言：
At that time, that Buddha spoke these verses to Bodhisattva Great Radiant Light:
善哉功德智慧海， 發心趣向大菩提， 汝當得佛不思議， 普為眾生作依處。
Excellent, ocean of merit and wisdom, Giving rise to mind directed toward great bodhi, You shall attain inconceivable Buddhahood, Universally becoming a refuge for beings.
汝已出生大智海， 悉能遍了一切法， 當以難思妙方便， 入佛無盡所行境。
You have already given birth to the ocean of great wisdom, Able to completely understand all dharmas, You shall use inconceivable wondrous skillful means, To enter the Buddha's inexhaustible realm of practice.
已見諸佛功德雲， 已入無盡智慧地， 諸波羅蜜方便海， 大名稱者當滿足。
Having seen clouds of all Buddhas' merits, Having entered the inexhaustible wisdom ground, The ocean of pāramitās and skillful means, You of great renown shall fulfill.
已得方便總持門， 及以無盡辯才門， 種種行願皆修習， 當成無等大智慧。
Having attained the gateway of skillful means and dhāraṇīs, And the gateway of inexhaustible eloquence, Cultivating all kinds of practices and vows, You shall accomplish unequaled great wisdom.
汝已出生諸願海， 汝已入於三昧海， 當具種種大神通， 不可思議諸佛法。
You have given birth to oceans of vows, You have entered oceans of samādhi, You shall possess various great spiritual powers, And inconceivable Buddha dharmas.
究竟法界不思議， 廣大深心已清淨， 普見十方一切佛， 離垢莊嚴眾剎海。
Ultimate and inconceivable dharma realm, Your vast profound mind already pure, Universally seeing all Buddhas of the ten directions, And stainless adorned oceans of lands.
汝已入我菩提行， 昔時本事方便海， 如我修行所淨治， 如是妙行汝皆悟。
You have entered my bodhi practices, The ocean of past skillful means, Just as I purified through practice, Such wondrous practices you have all realized.
我於無量一一剎， 種種供養諸佛海， 如彼修行所得果， 如是莊嚴汝咸見。
In each of countless lands, Making various offerings to oceans of Buddhas, The fruits obtained from such practices, Such adornments you completely see.
廣大劫海無有盡， 一切剎中修淨行， 堅固誓願不可思， 當得如來此神力。
Vast oceans of kalpas without end, Practicing pure conduct in all lands, With firm inconceivable vows, You shall attain the Tathāgata's spiritual powers.
諸佛供養盡無餘， 國土莊嚴悉清淨， 一切劫中修妙行， 汝當成佛大功德。』
Making offerings to all Buddhas completely without remainder, All lands adorned and pure, Practicing wondrous conduct through all kalpas, You shall accomplish Buddha's great merits.
「諸佛子！波羅蜜善眼莊嚴王如來入涅槃已，喜見善慧王尋亦去世，大威光童子受轉輪王位。彼摩尼華枝輪大林中第三如來出現於世，名：最勝功德海。時，大威光轉輪聖王，見彼如來成佛之相，與其眷屬，及四兵眾，城邑、聚落一切人民，并持七寶，俱往佛所，以一切香摩尼莊嚴大樓閣奉上於佛。時，彼如來於其林中，說菩薩普眼光明行修多羅，世界微塵數修多羅而為眷屬。爾時，大威光菩薩，聞此法已，得三昧，名：大福德普光明；得此三昧故，悉能了知一切菩薩、一切眾生，過、現、未來，福、非福海。
"Buddhaputra! After Pāramitā Good Eyes Adornment King Tathāgata entered parinirvāṇa, King Joyful Vision Good Wisdom also passed away, and Youth Great Radiant Light received the position of wheel-turning king. In that Maṇi Flower Branch Wheel Great Forest, a third Tathāgata appeared in the world named Supreme Merit Ocean. At that time, Great Radiant Light Wheel-Turning Sacred King, seeing that Tathāgata's marks of attaining Buddhahood, together with his retinue, the four-fold army, all people of cities and villages, and bringing the seven treasures, went together to where the Buddha was and offered to the Buddha a great tower adorned with all fragrances and maṇi jewels. At that time, that Tathāgata, in that forest, spoke the Bodhisattva Universal Eye Light Conduct Sutra, with sutras as numerous as dust motes in worlds as its retinue. At that time, Bodhisattva Great Radiant Light, having heard this teaching, attained a samādhi named Great Merit Universal Light; through attaining this samādhi, he could completely know all bodhisattvas and all beings' oceans of merit and non-merit throughout past, present and future.
「時，彼佛為大威光菩薩而說頌言：
At that time, that Buddha spoke these verses to Bodhisattva Great Radiant Light:
善哉福德大威光， 汝等今來至我所， 愍念一切眾生海， 發勝菩提大願心。
Excellent, Great Radiant Light of merit, You have now come to where I am, With compassion for all oceans of beings, Giving rise to supreme bodhi's great vow mind.
汝為一切苦眾生， 起大悲心令解脫， 當作群迷所依怙， 是名菩薩方便行。
For all suffering beings, You give rise to great compassionate mind for their liberation, You shall become a refuge for the confused multitudes, This is called the bodhisattva's skillful practice.
若有菩薩能堅固， 修諸勝行無厭怠， 最勝最上無礙解， 如是妙智彼當得。
If there are bodhisattvas who can firmly Cultivate supreme practices without weariness, The most supreme and highest unobstructed understanding, Such wondrous wisdom they shall attain.
福德光者福幢者， 福德處者福海者， 普賢菩薩所有願， 是汝大光能趣入。
Light of merit, Banner of merit, Abode of merit, Ocean of merit, All the vows of Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, You, Great Light, can enter into.
汝能以此廣大願， 入不思議諸佛海， 諸佛福海無有邊， 汝以妙解皆能見。
Through these vast vows, You can enter inconceivable oceans of Buddhas, The Buddhas' ocean of merit has no bounds, Through wondrous understanding you can see it all.
汝於十方國土中， 悉見無量無邊佛， 彼佛往昔諸行海， 如是一切汝咸見。
In the lands of the ten directions, You see countless boundless Buddhas, Those Buddhas' oceans of past practices, All of these you completely see.
若有住此方便海， 必得入於智地中， 此是隨順諸佛學， 決定當成一切智。
Those who dwell in this ocean of skillful means Will surely enter the grounds of wisdom, This is following and learning from all Buddhas, Definitely attaining all-wisdom.
汝於一切剎海中， 微塵劫海修諸行， 一切如來諸行海， 汝皆學已當成佛。
In all oceans of lands, Through oceans of dust-mote kalpas practicing, All Tathāgatas' oceans of practices, Having learned them all you shall become Buddha.
如汝所見十方中， 一切剎海極嚴淨， 汝剎嚴淨亦如是， 無邊願者所當得。
As you see in the ten directions, All oceans of lands supremely pure, Your lands shall be pure just like these, This is what those of boundless vows shall attain.
今此道場眾會海， 聞汝願已生欣樂， 皆入普賢廣大乘， 發心迴向趣菩提。
Now this ocean of assembly at the site of enlightenment, Having heard your vows, gives rise to joy, All entering Samantabhadra's vast vehicle, Giving rise to minds directed toward bodhi.
無邊國土一一中， 悉入修行經劫海， 以諸願力能圓滿， 普賢菩薩一切行。』
In each of boundless lands, Entering practice through oceans of kalpas, Through the power of vows able to perfect All of Bodhisattva Samantabhadra's practices.
「諸佛子！彼摩尼華枝輪大林中，復有佛出，號：名稱普聞蓮華眼幢。是時，大威光於此命終，生須彌山上寂靜寶宮天城中，為大天王，名：離垢福德幢，共諸天眾俱詣佛所，雨寶華雲以為供養。時，彼如來為說廣大方便普門遍照修多羅，世界海微塵數修多羅而為眷屬。時，天王眾聞此經已，得三昧，名：普門歡喜藏。以三昧力，能入一切法實相海。獲是益已，從道場出，還歸本處。」
"Buddhaputra! In that Maṇi Flower Branch Wheel Great Forest, another Buddha appeared, named Universal Renown Lotus Eyes Banner. At that time, Great Radiant Light passed away from this life and was reborn in the Tranquil Jewel Palace Heaven City atop Mount Sumeru, becoming a great heavenly king named Stainless Merit Banner. Together with the assembly of devas, he went to where the Buddha was and made offerings by raining clouds of precious flowers. At that time, that Tathāgata spoke to them the Vast Skillful Means Universal Gateway All-Pervading Illumination Sutra, with sutras as numerous as dust motes in oceans of worlds as its retinue. At that time, when the assembly of heavenly kings heard this sutra, they attained a samādhi named Treasury of Universal Gateway Joy. Through the power of this samādhi, they could enter the ocean of the true character of all dharmas. Having gained this benefit, they departed from the site of enlightenment and returned to their original place."
