DESCRIPTION

Settled within the palace of Śakra-devānām Indra atop Mount Sumeru, bodhisattvas once again gather from the Ten Directions:

• Dharma Wisdom Bodhisattva - the ‘leader’ of the Third Assembly. Compare to Smantabhadra’s role in the First Assembly and Mañjuśrī in the Second Assembly.
• Comprehensive Wisdom
• Supreme Wisdom
• Meritorious Qualities Wisdom
• Vigorous Wisdom
• Fine Wisdom
• Knowing Wisdom
• Genuine Wisdom
• Unsurpassable Wisdom
• Solid Wisdom

Then, the Buddha emits a hundred thousand koṭīs of marvelously colored light rays from the toes of his two feet.

The ten bodhisattvas then recite verses in response to the light.
