DESCRIPTION
In this chapter the Buddha addresses Nityodyukta Bodhisattva (Constant Vigor) saying, "If good men or good women receive and uphold this Lotus Sutra, whether reading, reciting, explaining, or writing it, these people will obtain eight hundred merits of the eye, twelve hundred merits of the ear, eight hundred merits of the nose, twelve hundred merits of the tongue, eight hundred merits of the body, and twelve hundred merits of the mind. With these merits, they will adorn their six sense organs, making them all pure.”
The Buddha then proceeds to describe the enhanced sense organs of the Dharmabhānaka, Dharma teacher, with beautiful meditative passages and verse summaries.
