DESCRIPTION
In Chapter Thirteen we see the return of Bhaiṣajya-rāja Bodhisattva, introduced in Chapter Ten, and Mahāpratibhāna Bodhisattva from Chapter Eleven. The chapter begins with the Buddha's aunt, the Bhikṣuṇī Mahaprajapati, and Yaśodharā Bhikṣuṇī, the mother of Rāhula, both receiving predictions of enlightenment.
There is also a discussion in this chapter of those people who might say the Lotus Sutra (and by extension all Mahayana sutras) are simply fabrications made up to deceive people. This chapter encourages revering the sutra, despite these accusations.
