LESSON 42 - ढ / ḌHa

荼字門,入諸法邊竟處故不終不生,過荼無字可說

The entrance of the syllable ḌHA (荼): because one enters the ultimate place of all dharmas, there is neither ending nor arising; beyond DHA no syllable can be spoken.

Kumarajiva

入擇字門,悟一切法究竟處所不可得故

Entering the gateway of the syllable ḌHA (擇), because one realizes that the ultimate location of all dharmas cannot be attained

Xuanzang

荼(去)字門一切法執持不可得故

The gateway of the syllable ḌHA (荼): because the grasping/holding of all dharmas cannot be attained.

Amoghavajra

DHA because of the non-apprehension of unsteadiness.

The syllable ḌHA [means] all mental phenomena are openings because of the nonrecognition of the syllable ḍha (ḍhaṃkāra)
